Two-Year Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology (developmental psychology)

The Bates College Department of Psychology invites applications for a two-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology in developmental psychology, beginning August 2021. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and supervision of undergraduate research, as well as demonstrated success in working with underrepresented and marginalized student populations. The teaching load is 5 courses each year, and the candidate will be expected to supervise senior thesis research projects. The successful candidate will be expected to teach developmental psychology and additional courses in their area of specialty. Courses that complement the curriculum in the psychology department are desirable. The area of specialization within developmental psychology is open but candidates whose teaching and/or research address gender, race, and/or ethnicity are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates should either hold the Ph.D. in psychology or be ABD in a psychology Ph.D. program.
