Director of Psychology

Riverview Psychiatric Center is seeking a full-time Clinical Director of Psychology to oversee a full range of psychological services within an adult inpatient setting. Additional functions of planning and directing research in the field of psychology, conferring with other department heads to plan hospital wide initiatives, developing and recommending policies and procedures governing the administration of psychological services, and overseeing both pre and post-doctoral internship programs.

This is an opportunity to join a group of highly motivated and skilled professionals who are devoted to providing state-of-the-art mental health care utilizing a Recovery Model of treatment. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with patients with severe personality disorders and / or forensic treatment settings.

Riverview Psychiatric Center, in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Psychologist Qualifications

Successful applicants must have a Ph. D. or PSY.D in clinical or counselling psychology from an A.P.A. accredited doctoral program, or its equivalent, and must be license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Maine. In addition, applicants must offer evidence of a least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience, one (1) year of which may have been an internship, including administrative, supervisory, and/or research responsibility is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with patients with Serve personality disorders and /or forensic treatment settings.
