Overview: Participants will be provided with up-to-date information regarding suicide related nomenclature, statistics, and epidemiological data. Moreover, those in attendance will be provided with information and hands-on practice with implementing evidence-based risk assessment and intervention strategies.

Individuals in attendance will be able to:

  • Differentiate between suicidal thoughts (ideation) and behaviors
  • Articulate a risk stratification strategy that allows classification with respect to severity and temporality
  • Discuss strategies to collaboratively develop a safety plan

MePA is approved by the Maine Board of Psychologists to offer CE credits for psychologists and maintains responsibility for the program.
