About Me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Portland, Maine and returned to southern Maine after completing my postdoctoral fellowship with Counseling and Substance Abuse Services at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. At the College of Charleston I ran a psychological assessment sub-clinic and served as the suicide prevention coordinator. I graduated from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology with a Psy.D., and earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Connecticut College. I completed my predoctoral internship with the University of Southern Maine where I specialized in individual psychotherapy and suicide prevention. I have worked in mental health settings ranging from an inpatient substance abuse clinic to McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA. My professional philosophy focuses on helping clients to develop skills and resources that enable them to cope with life difficulties as they arise. This philosophy emphasizes the view that therapy is a collaborative process and takes steps to ensure that clients feel they are in control of their therapy. I am an avid outdoorsman and love the recreational opportunities of southern Maine. I am a diehard Boston sports fan, have been known to tell terrible jokes, and also love cooking, traveling, and relaxing in my hammock.
