Join your psychology colleagues from across Maine for MePA’s 2025 Annual Conference! Earn 5 CEUs while engaging with timely topics of AI use in practice and critical advocacy for psychology and the communities psychologists support.
Speaker Jamie Sundvall, Ph.D, Psy.D. LP, LCSW of Touro University will share her expertise on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming clinical psychology, offering new tools for diagnosis, treatment, and practice management. This session will explore AI-powered diagnostics, predictive analytics, digital therapeutics, and virtual reality interventions, while also addressing ethical and legal considerations such as informed consent, bias, HIPAA compliance, and privacy.
Speaker Catherine McGuire, APA Chief Advocacy Officer, will highlight the critical ways psychologists need to advocate for ourselves in shaping mental health policy, protecting the profession, and expanding access to care. Psychologists bring expertise, trust, and influence—yet many don’t realize their power to drive change. This session will provide strategies for building relationships with lawmakers, collaborating with peers, and engaging in meaningful advocacy at every level.
The conference program also includes an interactive panel discussion with some of MePA’s past presidents, reflecting on lessons from the past and how they can guide psychology in Maine into the future.
